Online food ordering service Hellofood Middle East, has announced the acquisition of Otlob.com from Egyptian investment company A15. Otlob was initially launched in 1999 and since then has shown tremendous growth and potential over the years according to a statement by Khalil Bouassida, Co-Managing Director Hellofood Egypt.
Khalil goes on to say that Hellofood had
“…been deeply impressed with Otlob’s performance and scale for some time, and this acquisition will cement Otlob’s market-leading position in the massive Egyptian market.”
He further states the merging of Hellofood’s international expertise in the Middle East, Africa and globally with Otlob’s current lead in the Egyptian market will position the company for “turbocharged” growth.
Details of the acquisition are yet unclear but it would seem that Otlob would be keeping their name but relying heavily on Hellofood’s extensive operations expertise, hence the new facelift for Otlob’s existing app and online product; thus, delivering a more user-friendly experience.
Otlob currently delivers meals from over 500 Egyptian restaurants including Cook Door, Pizza Hut, McDonalds and Burger King with physical presence in Cairo, Port Said, Alexandria, Tanta, Assuit and Hurghada.
