#TechHer is a community of female technology enthusiasts who come together to network and help each other navigate the tech terrain. The inaugural gathering could not have come at a better time as there currently exists, the perception in the hearts of a significant majority that technology is strictly a male preserve.
There is therefore the need to change that perception through education, awareness creation and dissemination of information that will help give Nigerian women access to bigger and better opportunities in technology.
A representative for the organizing body states that “#TechHer will increase our productivity, create new entrepreneurial ventures or open access to new income-generating pursuits through interaction, friendship and mentorship.”
Female developers, bloggers, social media influencers, coders or any woman who has an interest in technology is welcome to apply for the inaugural gathering which will be taking place on August 28th, 2015 by 6 pm. The venue for the event will be communicated to registered applicants.
