In any economy of the world, Entrepreneurs occupy an important position in a market. They serve as triggers in the economy’s engine by initiating and encouraging all economic actions by further becoming the driving force for more productivity in a nation’s economy. Hence, entrepreneurial businesses whether small, medium or large scales are to be encouraged as this will produce new and vibrant upcoming entrepreneurs in any industry.

The Palm Oil industry in Nigeria has the prospects of providing employment for millions of unskilled and semi-skilled people. Improvement in the production of Oil Palm can effectively mitigate the poverty level in Nigeria, especially in Cross River State. Improving the local capacity of Palm Oil production in Cross River will not only impact positively on food security and local economy but also provide huge prospects for future exports that will advance the Cross River economy. This in particular will help the State in achieving more economic success by further encouraging the entrepreneurial drive for the so many interested entrepreneurs willing to go into the Palm Oil industry.

From the vantage point of the Palm Oil industry in the Niger Delta area, Focus Hub in partnership with PIND (Partnership Initiative for the Niger Delta) is poised towards enhancing the processing and production of Palm Oil produce through a program which will serve as a tool for poverty reduction and higher productivity. This in particular, will benefit end users who want to buy in larger quantities, therefore, create more employment opportunities in the State and in the Niger Delta as a whole. The Purpose of the Program will:

• Provide market linkage for Palm Oil millers for more productivity

• Business training and consulting

• Access to affordable technology and

• Access to Finance
