Congratulations to Kasope Ladipo-Ajai for emerging first place at the just concluded She Leads Africa competition. Kasope’s OmoAlata which produces Nigeria’s first NAFDAC approved 100% organic packaged blended peppermix, sealed the deal for her as she carted home the grand prize of $10,000, mentorship, technology prizes from Etisalat and 3-months of support from Zippy Logistics.
The She Leads Africa Pitch Competition is an event showcase that supports innovative products by women entrepreneurs across Africa. This year’s competition saw 6 finalists pitching their hearts out to a panel of African judges amongst who were Mo Abudu, Tunde Folawiyo, Issam Darwish, Omobola Johnson, Eme Essien, Genevieve Sangudi and a representative of lead sponsor, GTBank.
Other winners were Kambili Ngozi Ofili-Okonkwo of Kamokini a Nigerian swimwear brand that emerged second position and Ngozi Opara who placed third, courtesy of her Heat Free Hair Movement, a brand that produces natural curly hair extensions. Both winners went home with $ 5,000 and $1,000 respectively. Other finalists include Louisa Kinoshi of BeautyRevNG, Imoteda Aladekemo, founder of Heels in the Kitchen and Brenda Katwesigye of Instahealth.
