Rentaboss.com.ng – A startup disrupting the SME consulting landscape in Nigeria

Most SMEs do not think they have got what it takes to be a full fell fledged global enterprise. Sometimes you need someone on the outside who can see the bigger picture and help put you on that path to greater success and achievements. This is what the gurus behind rent-a-boss hope to achieve.

The founders of Rent-a-boss project hope to provide “Virtual bosses” to SMEs and Startups leaders that have challenges managing their businesses and would need oversight support. These young and innovative Nigerians operating out of the Niger Delta are experienced SME consultants who have worked on various SME/Startup programs in and outside Nigeria. Speaking with a member of the project team,Godson Ohuruogu on what their vision for the project is, he says

“Picture a scenario where you feel your business is at a standstill, you know you need to go back to the drawing board, the business environment is dynamic, you know you need to effect changes but how do you go about initiating and effecting these changes? This is the sole reason you need the help of seasoned business strategists who collectively have decades of experience in business strategy, development and growth”.

These days businesses are not necessarily bothered about time management anymore, rather they tend to focus on strategies. The world is evolving; it’s time to dream big, enhance the equity of your brand, get innovative, explore new markets, equip yourself with adequate financial knowledge and access the available financial structures that you never knew were available to you. To do this, one has to be sure the foundation is right and this can only be achieved through effective strategy and prioritizing.

One major challenge SME owners and founders have is with their priority lists and their strategy. The tendency to underachieve is very high because of these two issues. Speaking further , Mr. Godson says

“Rent-a-boss was therefore borne out of the desire to help SMEs perform optimally by helping them prioritize their to-do-list and also provide various other services such as mentoring and coaching, strategy formulation and company assessment. Our approach is not judgmental, we take you for who you are in relating with you and we understand we all have inadequacies“.

The team hopes to assist businesses achieve more than they ever could achieve working alone. These Virtual bosses will work from the comfort of their homes or offices except for plans where they have to see their clients. The bosses are also business owners and SME consultants in their own right, who know what SME owners need in order to succeed and are ready to provide these services and have what it takes to get the job done.

This platform works when a client registers and chooses a plan. A member of the team reaches out to the client and sets a link between the client and the chosen boss. The boss establishes the link and continues to provide services to the clients for the period of the plan and at the end of the period, the client reviews the boss and the cycle continues. It really is as simple as that.
