The Google Developers Groups (GDG) Port Harcourt is organizing a two day event in the city of Port Harcourt tagged GDG Port Harcourt UX Masterclass. The event is expected to introduce participants to the rapidly-growing world of user experience design. The masterclass will also provide attendees the opportunity to meet and network with other design enthusiasts.
20 persons will be invited to attend this event. 5 teams, each made up of 4 persons will be challenged with the task of providing hands-on User Experience solutions to 5 application problem statements, personas will be created from these problem statements and attendees will proffer UX solution to these problems. This will session will precede the presentations on UX, to equip the attendees with the skills required to proffer the above solutions.
At the end of Day 2, each team will be allowed to pitch their experience during the hands-on sessions and will also be able to showcase their final design for the given application. Details of selected applications for this event will be released soon. The winning team members will each receive enticing goodie bags from Google and the best feature of an app idea will also win a Google Cardboard Virtual Reality device. There will be no coding during this event as participants will focus on all round design and requirement gathering.
The user experience masterclass will be taking place at Focushub Port Harcourt on the 14th and 15th of August 2015 and is to be anchored by Gino Osahon and Ihunanya Thompson. Interested participants are required to register on the link provided here.
